  1. In October 2009 we celebrated Wildlife Week-2009 in alliance with Rajkot Municipal Zoo and Navrang Nature Club – Rajkot. As per programme, 12 schools & 1 college were selected for Essay Competition & Drawing Competition and Nature camps. Nature Camps were organized at Rajkot Zoo for participating school children. In these Nature Camps more than 200 Students from various schools participated and enjoyed the nature and visited the zoo’s animals very closely. (See Anne-I)

  2. Website www.asiaticlion.org with exhaustive information on Gir and Asiatic Lion. Till Dec- 2010 it has 62177 visitors and 216533 page loads since 21-7-2006
  3. News Blog http://asiatic-lion.blogspot.and com, where we instantly post last minute news about Gir and Asiatic Lion. Till Dec-2010 it has 49022 visitors and 80030 page loads since 23-8-2006.
  4. Monthly “Asiatic Lion e-Bulletin” is regularly being sent to Big Cat fans all around the world since 2007/08.

As per programme, 12 schools & 1 college were selected for Essay Competition & Drawing Competition and Nature camps. Nature Camps were organized at Rajkot Zoo for participating school children. In these Nature Camps more than 200 Students from various schools participated and enjoyed the nature and visited the zoo’s animals very closely.

Participating Schools were given following items in advance for celebrating the week.
  1. Literature set of wildlife, Birds, Pamphlets, posters etc.
  2. One canvas Sign Board for display in the entry gate of every school.
  3. Achievement certificates
  4. In addition to this trophies and caps were also given to the winners
  5. The students who came to Nature Camp at Rajkot Zoo were given caps with slogan “Save The Nature”, snacks and certificates.
  6. The camps were conducted by well-known experience resource persons like Dr. M. G. Maradia, Bhargavbhai (Zoo curator) and Ravi Ardesna from Navrang Club
All schools & college participated with full enthusiasm & took park in the Essay & Drawing competition. Schools also submitted their feedback reports regarding the celebration after the competition.

Apart from above photography competition for Open Public was also organized. In this 43 persons participated. Four rankers were given cash price of Rs 2500, Rs. 1500, Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 along with caps, trophies and certificates.
